First of all,when the zombie apocolypse or possibly even the "virus" spreads it will come to all of us unawares reguardless of careful search(although one or ten(for every square foot more or less)may possibly notice and try to tell everybody but they most likely will be called nothing but nutters).

Everybody knows that zombies can't climb. My plan uses this to our advantage. Before the zombie outbreak stock up on climbing ropes, harnesses, pitons and general climbing gear. At the first sign of a zombie out break grab a car and head straight for the nearest mountain. Once there hike to a good spot that has some climbing involved. If you can find a cave that needs alot of climbing to get to that even better. The best thing about having a camp in the mountians is that they are usualy in a national park so there will be lots of food from the sorounding plants and animals.
