Recent Zombie Plans

This is my plan, and would like to have input from other fellow Chicagoans or anyone facing a similar large city bordering water scenario.

I must first make note of the fact that my plan is going to be radically effected by the weather. The difference between winter and summer here is dramatic, and this must be taken into account.

If the zombie apocalypse occurs during the summer, ideal, then my first instinct would be to gather my family (if possible); wife, dog, parents, siblings, and friends. Hopefully, I can communicate my plan to them before the phones become inoperable, if not, then I may have to abandon my parents as they live out in the suburbs.

Here, I must proceed with a few assumptions: first, that my wife is not a work, as she works outside the city; second, that it is summer (you'll see why this is crucial later); third, that it is daytime, I wouldn't attempt it at night, and; finally, that it is an attack more of the day of the dead style (zombie infection just starting), rather than dawn of the dead (zombie population already out of control).

Well, lets start off with the beginning. As soon as the riots etc start i'm quite close to being buggered as i live near two big cities in England (Liverpool & Manchester). However. The cars that i have access too are a people carrirer, two cars and van. my first priority is to arm myself with one of the battle ready swords that i collect, and to stock the vehicles with the weapns and a family member.

i'd drive around the area picking up my crew, drive 2 mins down the road to my local newsagents ransacking it for canned food and drinks. by now after i hit the two or three local shops i can make the hard trip down A&B-Roads. The plan would be to drive up north into Scotland.

In Scotland there are small towns and villages finding people to lead a group up into the highlands of Scotland, and then finishing up in an old castle which will be soon once it was safely barricaded have running water (from the rain after boiled and sterilized) and a garden growing veg. the meat can easily be caught be animals around the area before i have finished barricading the castle. to sum up, there would be about 14 in total living in a castle armed incase of a break in and with food and water. there is also the part that i know MMA(Mixed Martial Arts) and have dabbered with my swords in the past to know how to use them effectively.
